“Change is good,” say customers changing up to Innova Art at Photokina

Hugely positive response to the new Innova Art products on show at Photokina 2016, Cologne, Germany, 20-25 September 2016. We promised, didn’t we, that there would be nice surprises in store for visitors to the Innova Art stand at Photokina 2016, Cologne, Germany, 20-25 September? Well, we got it right – our delighted customers said so. We raised the curtain on the new Editions range – comprising five archival cotton-based papers and one baryta paper specially formulated for digital printing – and it proved an instant hit. The response of NyghtFalcon, USA, which had put the two new Fabriano papers, Fabriano Artistico Watercolour Rag 310gsm (IFA 108) and Fabriano Printmaking Rag 310gsm (IFA 107), through their paces just prior to the show, was typical: “As you can imagine, like most photographers, we are hesitant to change the way we print. Change is time-consuming and experimentation rarely yields better results. Well, I have to tell you that, in this case, we have produced some of the finest prints we have ever made – even without ICC profiles specific to these papers. We found the colour rendering most impressive, adhesion of the ink to the paper was phenomenal, the detail breathtaking, and we love the textured surface. Even our concerns about the thickness of the paper proved without merit. Going forward, these are the papers we will use for all our fine art prints.” “Some of the finest prints we have ever made”... clearly, a change to Innova Art products can prove revelatory. Our alluring addition to the GOframe range, Hex Frame – the hexagonal framing system with added ‘six appeal’ – proved a winner, and the Pinchbook™ range – making deluxe portfolios the simplest of [...]

The all-new Innova Photo Art range: more miracles

It’s time we came clean: Innova Art makes the world’s best Photo Art media. We don’t need to tell you that –you’ll have seen the reviews: “I have never been so satisfied with the way my final images look and feel, nor how well the care and effort I put in is reflected in what appears on the [FibaPrint Warm Cotton Gloss] paper. There’s no better place for your best images to end up.” – Daniel Demolder, Amateur Photographer magazine. “This was my first experience with Innova Art papers. I'm a real paper fiend, and I love trying out new ink jet papers. I've used everything from the classic Hahnemühle and Ilford papers, to Moab, Breathing Color, Harman, and others. Innova makes a wonderful paper, great texture, great tone. I intend to continue trying out their other papers.” – John Rista, Photographer, USA “If I could sit down and design a paper FibaPrint Gloss would be it.” –David Osborn, Photographer, UK “[FibaPrint Ultra Smooth Gloss is] the miracle I’ve been waiting for. With deeper blacks than any silver paper left on the market, for me this paper represents a rebirth of the darkroom.” – Douglas Menuez, Photographer, USA Choosing Innova Photo Art media has never been a difficult choice; it’s clearly the best bet. Now, to spell it out even more clearly than before, we’ve refreshed and revamped the range. We’ve given the Photo Art range a new home on our website, where you’ll find full product descriptions, and downloadable data sheets and ICC profiles at the click of a mouse. Innova Art unwraps the world’s best digital canvases at Photokina 2016

We owe you an apology. We haven’t been entirely open about all the exciting new products we’ll be showing visitors to the Innova Art stand A6/C5, Hall 3.1, at this year’s Photokina, Cologne, Germany, 20-25 September. Up to now, it’s been a teasing detail there, a tidbit or two there. All very frustrating, we know. Sorry. And while we’re not yet ready to reveal all, we do think it’s time we told you about one or two of the things we’ve been keeping ‘under wraps’ till now… Innova Art’s digital canvas range, for example. (Digital canvas “under wraps” – did you see what we did there?) Not that there’s ever been any great secret about the quality of our digital canvas products. Didn’t Professional Imagemaker magazine hail the Photo Canvas Ultra Gloss as “the king of the gloss canvases”? What’s different this year is that the range has been a complete revamp. We’ve tailored it so that customers will find it easier to find the canvas they want, and match it both to the job specification and the technology they have at their disposal. We’ve five canvases for aqueous inkjet printers (pigment and dye): Exhibition Matte Polycotton Canvas 350gsm IFA 35 Exhibition Matte Polycotton Canvas 380gsm IFA 55 Exhibition Matte Polyester Canvas 260gsm IFA 52 FibaPrint® Canvas Ultra Gloss 380gsm IFA 36 Exhibition Gloss Polycotton Canvas 390gsm IFA 56 The names may not be entirely familiar as yet – but the products will be. As importantly, is that they have all been tried and tested, in photographic studios and print workshops worldwide. Also designed for use with aqueous inkjet printers (pigment and dye) is the all-new Exhibition Matte Cotton Canvas 370gsm (IFA 54), with all [...]

Innova Art adds six appeal with its new GOframe Hex Frame system

Innova Art announces product launch for Photokina 2016, 20-25 September, Cologne, Germany. “In geometry, a hexagon (from Greek ἕξ hex, ‘six’ and γωνία, gonía, ‘corner, angle’) is a six-sided polygon or 6-gon. The total of the internal angles of any hexagon is 720°….” Well, thanks Wikipedia, that’s good to know. But it doesn’t really explain the unique appeal of hexagonal frames. Certainly they present something different (and who doesn’t like different?). Hexagonal frames are eye-catching, they’re fun. Also, as Wikipedia explains, you can get more of them to your square metre of wall space: “From bees’ honeycombs to the Giant’s Causeway, hexagonal patterns are prevalent in nature due to their efficiency. In a hexagonal grid each line is as short as it can possibly be if a large area is to be filled with the fewest number of hexagons. This means that honeycombs require less wax to construct and gain lots of strength under compression...” (Wikipedia) So, that’s it then: for geometrical sophistication, space efficiency and all-round robustness, there’s nothing to beat the natural appeal of the hexagon. Make like the bee. Yes, you say – but how do I convert my digital canvas prints into exciting 3D hexagonal-shaped canvas wraps? With Innova Art’s GOframe Hex Frame system, of course, launched to the international photo, art and framing market at this year’s Photokina, Cologne, 20 – 25 September 2016. Take a Hex frame corner kit containing pre-cut bars in standard 5″ lengths. There are 36 bars in every kit, meaning you can create 6 hexagonal stretched canvases from every box you buy. You’ll also need your canvas print, a canvas trimmer and some archival quality glue, but that’s it – you’re good to go. Remove [...]

All systems go for Innova Art at Sign & Digital UK 2016, NEC, Birmingham, 19-21 April

The ingenious GOFrame canvas stretching system and award-winning JetMaster Image Display range were the star attractions on the Innova Art stand at Sign & Digital UK, NEC, Birmingham, 19-21 April. The double-whammy package of easy assembly and high quality finish of the GOFrame and JetMaster products made them the biggest draw. Sign-Tronic’s Oce Arizona flatbed printer, demonstrating how quick and easy it is to print stylish 3D art on the full range of JetMaster direct print media, was kept running throughout the show. “The majority of visitors to our stand were print service providers, with a primary interest in décor and display,” said Jon Courtiour, Innova Art Business Director; Decor, Display and Retail Solutions. “What’s exciting was visitors’ interest in expanding their offer beyond signage and wide format – they were looking for exactly the kind of value-adding display options that GOFrame and JetMaster provide. Products like this help differentiate a business from its rivals, at the same time as they can dramatically improve margins.” As a company, Innova Art believes it drew more visitors to the stand in 2016 than at Sign & Digital UK 2015. Many were from the UK and Ireland, but some were from further afield including Eastern Europe and Africa. “Wherever visitors come from, they are looking for flexibility, quality and cost-efficiency – and we had many excellent discussions which proved to me that products like GOFrame and JetMaster do just that,” said Courtiour.

It’s a sell out for Innova Art at The Photography Show 2016

The Innova range of digital fine art and photographic media proved popular at The Photography show, Birmingham, 19-22 March. A bigger stand than ever before saw Innova Art reseller, Fine Art Foto, selling out of some of the most popular product lines. The stand next to the super stage had a constant stream of visitors keen to stock up on their digital fine art supplies. “Metallic papers were popular this year, the onsite stock of Olmec Photo Metallic Lustre 260gsm sold out before the end of the show,” Wayne Malodobry of Fine Art Foto reported. Alongside the Olmec Metallic papers, the Photo Satin papers also proved popular and Pinchbook Photo Books were flying off the shelf. These covers offer a simple way to bind multiple prints. Pinchbook Photo Books can be used with any paper type – resin coated photo papers or matte and gloss digital fine art papers. Prints can be easily inserted by pulling back the covers to open the patented spring clamp and then secured in place by returning the covers to their original position. “The flexibility of being able to change the content in seconds really appealed to visitors,” commented Malodobry. Value added convenience was a theme for the Innova art stand at The Photography Show this year. The demonstration zone had a regular crowd of visitors keen to learn how to add value to their canvas prints using the GOframe canvas stretching system. The system, which only requires a knife, caught the eye of many enthusiastic photographers looking to make their own stretched canvases at home. “Many photographers said they currently outsource canvas stretching, or had resisted printing on canvas because they felt they lacked the necessary skills to stretch [...]

FESPA Digital 2016: Innova Art’s big draw

Décor and Display win the day Digital specialist Innova Art had an excellent response from visitors to its stand T64, Hall 7, at FESPA Digital 2016, Amsterdam, 8- 11 March. “Our ‘department store’-style presentation proved a real magnet,” said Jon Courtiour, Innova Art Business Director; Decor, Display and Retail Solutions. “People could easily see which were the priority products they wanted to take a closer look at – and then found themselves being enticed into something new by the demonstrations going on all around the stand.” Innova Art’s biggest draw was its award-winning JetMaster® Image Display Systems range, which now includes direct print photo wraps and panels that can be printed in volume and assembled – without tools – in minutes. “We had JetMaster distributor Sign-Tronic on the stand with their Canon Océ Arizona Flatbed printer, demonstrating how easy it is to print 3D art and décor products with JetMaster,” said Courtiour. “Visitors were amazed to see 12x12” JetMaster Direct Print Photo Wraps being printed eight at a time – and ready to hang after just minutes of assembly.” The GOframe canvas stretching system, which transforms wrapped canvases made the traditional way into an astonishingly easy task, were also the centre of attention. The pre-cut stretcher bars in combination with the patented GOframe clamps produce drum-tight stretched canvases without any need for hammers or nails. Throughout the fair, samples of Innova Art’s YouTac® Textile were rolling off the Epson SureColor SC S-40600 provided by ARCA printers and supplies. Driven by Shiraz software, the results were outstanding. Shiraz also operated an Epson SureLab D700 which was used to print artwork for JetMaster Photo Panels and – at the other end of the spectrum – the pages [...]
