Innova Wins Photography News 2023 Editor’s Choice Award

Innova Smooth Cotton High White 215gsm (IFA-004) has won the Photography News Award Editor's Choice Award 2023 in the Best Inkjet Media: Fine Art Finish category. Taking place every year, the Photography News Awards recognise fantastic kit and outstanding service. Limited to just a few categories within the annual Photography News Awards, the Editor's Choice Award is selected by the magazine editor and given to the products they feel deserve special attention.  “We could not be happier to be receiving a Photography News Awards Editor's Choice recognition for the second year in a row,” says Nevelle Bower, CEO of Innova Art. “We are proud of our entire product range but to see one of our original surfaces receive an award proves that we were doing something right when we launched the company over twenty years ago. It reinforces our belief that 21st Century photographers need papers that have been developed specifically for them, and inspires us to continue producing new surfaces that help digital printmakers everywhere produce the best possible quality.” One of the earliest products to be launched by Innova Art, Smooth Cotton High White 215gsm (IFA-004) has become a firm favourite for many digital printmakers. The light weight and flexibility make it an ideal option for creating portfolio or book pages. Whilst the smooth matte surface shows every detail within an image and the cotton base provides a feeling of substance when prints are handled.  Supplied in sheet formats from A4-A2 and roll formats up to 60” wide this smooth matte archival inkjet paper is compatible with both pigment and dye inkjet printers. Success at Printing United 2023 for Innova Art

Celebrating an award win and welcoming some brand new customers, Innova Art had a great time in Atlanta last month for Printing United 2023. Long committed to setting benchmarks and bringing together the printing community, Printing United 2023 followed the established trend. With over 28,000 registrants, there were plenty of people in the halls for the Innova Art team to meet. Visitors to the Innova Art booth were not disappointed. Attendees were enticed to the booth by the vibrant and detailed photographs by New Jersey based Peter Hewitt who specialises in capturing the details of the world’s natural landscapes. Taking pride of place on the stand was the Innova Supernova range of flexible dye-sublimation receptive media. Interested visitors were treated to live demonstrations using a flatbed heat press but the products can also be used with calendar (rotary) heat presses. It is fair to say that the visitors who spoke to the Innova Art team were impressed with the range of surfaces available in the Innova Supernova range. It was a double celebration for the Innova team as the official presentations for the Pinnacle Product Awards 2023 took place at Printing United 2023. Innova Supernova Chrome scooped the award in the non-output device media - dye-sublimation flexible category. Many visitors commented on the potential of the Innova Supernova range as an alternative media for c-type prints for a range of applications. Alongside Innova Supernova Chrome, already popular for photographers looking to produce cibachrome style prints, the Printing United 2023 booth featured: Innova Supernova Clearlite - for window graphics, Innova Supernova Translite - for backlit graphics and Innova Supernova Baryta - for cibachrome style prints with the feel of a traditional fibre based photo paper. Innova Shows the Future at FESPA 2023

Returning from FESPA Global Print Expo 2023 (May 23-26) Innova Art celebrates the launch of the D-print: the new dye-sublimation alternative to C-print. With over 500 exhibitors and an estimated 15,000 visitors FESPA Global Print Expo 2023 continued the upward recovery trend of post-pandemic events. More exhibitors returned for the first time, taking advantage of reduced travel restrictions, bringing more visitors into the halls. This was all reflected on the Innova stand. Accompanying the usual turn out of European attendees was a significant increase in the number of visitors from Asia and the Americas. Innova Art: Celebrating 20 Years

First established in 2003, Innova Art celebrates 20 years in the fine art inkjet media market this year. One of the first inkjet media manufacturers established in the 21st Century, the company is still run by two of the original founders. As part of the twentieth anniversary celebrations, Mike Ramos-Gonzalez and Wayne Connelly sat down to reminisce over the last two decades. Based on opposite sides of the Atlantic, Mike and Wayne have worked closely for years. Including a decade in the fine art paper industry before they set up Innova Art. “We set up Innova Art to broaden the market,” says Wayne Connelly, from the USA. “We believed we could help the market to develop by introducing more economical products with the same high quality as existing products in the market at the time.”  “We were driven by 21st Century thinking around 21st Century applications,” adds Mike Ramos-Gonzalez, from the UK. Innova Art quickly became established as one of the top three players in the archival inkjet media market. “Our go to market strategy is very different from our competitors…we’re the white box own-branding alternative.” Mike muses.  “Our initial thinking was the fast will eat the big” Wayne interjects. The company has grown beyond initial predictions from the founders. With more staff and more equipment than they ever planned to invest in twenty years ago. “In the past five years we’ve put in more key personnel so we are not making every decision…It’s more than we planned at the start but it’s also more than we knew we needed.” Observes Wayne. “We have a facility that specialises in the conversion of digital fine art materials that is second to none in the world…We’re proud [...]

Meet the D-Print at FESPA Global Print Expo 2023

Visit Innova Art on stand E37 in Hall B1 at FESPA Global Print Expo, Munich, May 23-26 2023. Hailed as the new alternative to C-print reproductions, the D-print uses existing dye-sublimation equipment but relies on a whole new range of media. Receptive dye-sublimation media in the Innova Supernova Sublimation portfolio provides printmakers with material to produce backlit, glass and gallery displays. All with vibrant colours, crisp details and smooth tonal ranges. Two Gallery Display Surfaces Innova Supernova Chrome is a flexible dye-sublimation receptive media which, according to Rochester Institute of Technology, “is the closest paper that mimics the traditional Ilfochrome Deluxe paper from years ago.” The high gloss surface of Innova Supernova Chrome encapsulates the ink and creates a hard wearing, high impact display. Innova Supernova Baryta features a paper base modelled on the fibre based surfaces found in chemical darkrooms. Utilising dye-sublimation technology, prints are brought to life on the high gloss surface. Three New Surfaces Innova Supernova Translite is a dye-sublimation receptive light diffusing polyester film. The surface of this film is capable of capturing a wide colour gamut and producing dense blacks. Ideal for backlit promotional and advertising displays. Innova Supernova Clearlite is a dye-sublimation receptive film ideal for transparencies, decorative screens and glass decals. The surface is completely clear, so any areas without ink remain totally transparent. A scratch and solvent resistant finish makes it a great option for high traffic areas. Innova Supernova Matte will be previewed for the first time at FESPA Global Print Expo 2023. Perfect for large format displays, the dye-sublimation receptive surface of this film features a matte finish. Reducing reflections and creating a more refined feel when compared to prints produced on high gloss surfaces. [...]
