Innova Art is Coming of Age

While 2020 brought with it challenges and uncertainties never before experienced in our lifetimes, the management team at Innova Art Ltd, were determined not to allow the COViD pandemic to hold us back. So, once we took care of the related health & safety requirements, we committed ourselves to pushing forward to realise our intended vision.  “We used the slower moments of the pandemic to take a long and hard look at our own organisation and visualise the business we really want to be, thereafter we fully initiated the steps required to move us towards the vision we created.”  Comments Nevelle Bower, Innova Art Ltd CEO. The first step in this direction was to notice that, as we enter our 19th year in business, we have become, an industry leading manufacture of digital fine-art and photographic media with a high-quality sheet and roll converting facility. We recognised that our skills and capabilities could be offered across a much broader digital and imaging media range. Therefore we took the initiative to expand and increase our capabilities in order to offer our experience and services to others just as markets turned their attention to more regional solutions. We added four batch-slitters, a reel-to-reel master roll slitter and a state-of-the-art (semi-automatic) sheeting line with packing processes to our already very capable facility.  Adding these 6 new machines have increased the production capabilities from 2000 finished rolls per month to 12000, with sheeting and packing potentials up more than 100%. All of this we  achieved while maintaining a strict COViD safety policy with socially-distanced workstations spaced much further apart than the governments required 2m divisions. We are growing responsibly The resulting growth in the last quarter of 2020, even [...]

The Photography Show Business

Innova Art showed how to do it at The Photography Show, NEC, Birmingham, 16-19 March 2019  On the basis that show, not tell, is always the best way to convince anyone, Innova Art’s spectacular Atlas of Humanity exhibition at The Photography Show 2019, NEC, Birmingham, 16-19 March, certainly did the job.  Devised in association with the Italian photographer and curator Martin Vegas, the Atlas of Humanity exhibition – images of people from around the world, printed on premium Innova Art substrates – proved one of the talking points of the fair. As Innova Art MD Mike Ramos-Gonzalez said, “We’ve shown Atlas of Humanity across Europe and America, and the reaction is always the same: what beautiful portraits, what amazing prints – now which papers do I buy to get my work looking that good?” The four Innova Art papers used to make the prints included two papers from the acclaimed Innova Editions® range: Exhibition Photo Baryta 310gsm (IFA 69) – a pure white photographic base paper with a true barium sulphate layer; and Fabriano Printmaking Rag 310gsm (IFA 107), the 100% cotton, mouldmade paper based on centuries-old papermaking techniques, with a unique white tone and soft grain texture.  Atlas of Humanity images were also printed on the Innova Smooth Cotton High White 100% Cotton 315gsm (IFA 14), one of the most popular Innova Art papers with a smooth, matte finish that lets images speak for themselves; and Innova FibaPrint® Ultra Smooth Gloss 285gsm (IFA 49), the multi-award-winning digital fibre based baryta paper with an ultra-smooth gloss finish. Ramos-Gonzalez added, “There was a steady flow of people who, after admiring the exhibition, came straight over to the stand, wanting to buy the same paper they’d seen up [...]

See the World: Atlas of Humanity at The Photography Show 2019

Innova Art are pleased to be working in association with Atlas of Humanity to show a selection of prints from the project at The Photography Show 2019, March 16-19, Birmingham NEC. Inspired by the UNESCO universal declaration: “to help preserve and promote cultural diversity”, Atlas of Humanity is a collection of photographs conceived and curated by Martin Vegas. Started in 2015, the project has grown organically over time. Collated from contributions by more than 100 photographers worldwide, with an ever growing collection of images, currently showing more than 400 ethnic groups. Atlas of Humanity has one aim: to celebrate diversity through a photographic record of every culture worldwide. For the first time in the UK, visitors to The Photography Show 2019 will be able to get a taste of this ambitious project in print within a dedicated gallery space. Each image will be printed on a specially selected archival inkjet media manufactured by Innova Art. Prior to Photokina 2018, where the first printed exhibition took place, the only way that the Atlas of Humanity collection could be seen was online. Through the selection of images on display, visitors to The Photography Show 2019 will see that every photograph in the Atlas of Humanity project focusses on the diversity of the subject matter. The creative styles and approaches of each individual photographer are secondary to the subject of the image. Although their individual talents are not the focus of this project, the pool of photographers building this collection is as diverse as the collection itself. Ranging from professionals and photo journalists with multiple awards, through to talented amateurs and friends of photographers already involved. Anyone and everyone who uses a camera is invited to contribute to [...]
