See the World: Atlas of Humanity at The Photography Show 2019

Innova Art are pleased to be working in association with Atlas of Humanity to show a selection of prints from the project at The Photography Show 2019, March 16-19, Birmingham NEC. Inspired by the UNESCO universal declaration: “to help preserve and promote cultural diversity”, Atlas of Humanity is a collection of photographs conceived and curated by Martin Vegas. Started in 2015, the project has grown organically over time. Collated from contributions by more than 100 photographers worldwide, with an ever growing collection of images, currently showing more than 400 ethnic groups. Atlas of Humanity has one aim: to celebrate diversity through a photographic record of every culture worldwide. For the first time in the UK, visitors to The Photography Show 2019 will be able to get a taste of this ambitious project in print within a dedicated gallery space. Each image will be printed on a specially selected archival inkjet media manufactured by Innova Art. Prior to Photokina 2018, where the first printed exhibition took place, the only way that the Atlas of Humanity collection could be seen was online. Through the selection of images on display, visitors to The Photography Show 2019 will see that every photograph in the Atlas of Humanity project focusses on the diversity of the subject matter. The creative styles and approaches of each individual photographer are secondary to the subject of the image. Although their individual talents are not the focus of this project, the pool of photographers building this collection is as diverse as the collection itself. Ranging from professionals and photo journalists with multiple awards, through to talented amateurs and friends of photographers already involved. Anyone and everyone who uses a camera is invited to contribute to [...]

Innova Art’s impeccable debut at Photo & Imaging Shanghai

Innova Art made its debut at Photo & Imaging Shanghai, 11-14 July 2018. The international photographic equipment and digital imaging fair is among the biggest of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region.  200-plus leading brands attracted over 50,000 visitors from 1100 cities across China across the four days of the fair. Innova Art, which relaunched in China as recently as 2017, was among the busiest of exhibitors at an event that provided an invaluable showcase across the entire product range. “This is our first year as brand Innova and we had a massively positive response,” said Ron Xia, Business Director, Asia.  “Our Innova Wall presented twenty printers from China who are a part of our Golden Service Partner programme. The best way to show what Innova Art media can do as a product is to put it through its paces. You don’t have to take our word for it when you are presented with such exciting and impeccably printed images.”  “Another of our partnerships with end-users is our new photographer-artist programme for China, ‘Innova Image Ambassadors’. We’re working very closely with leading photographers and artists, providing them with a range of products to try out, and offering in-depth advice and support. While they get the chance to experiment, visitors to the stand can come and see how inspirational the results are. We showed eight artworks by seven of the most famous photographers in China at the show – they were exemplary.” The JetMaster® Photo Panel, also launched at the show, attracting wide interest from consumers, and especially wedding photographers. The JetMaster® range, part of which was awarded the UK Fine Art Trade Guild’s Innovation Award when it first appeared, makes 3D image display a speedy, [...]

Innova Art at Moniker Art Fair: where the magic happens

Innova Art, the award-winning digital media specialist, is sponsoring two inspiring projects at the Moniker Art Fair, The Old Truman Brewery, London E1, 5–8 October 2017. The US mixed media artist Ian Kuali’i , a Moniker Art Fair Featured Artist, has created one of his signature, handcut paper installations especially for the fair. Kuali’i, whose approach is based on “the meditative process of destroying to create”, will be encouraging visitors around and inside his immersive paper sculpture, a work that, as always, draws as much on his ancestral ties to the indigenous people of the Southwest United States and Hawai’i, and his interest in occult symbolism, mysticism and global politics, as the Hip Hop music and art scene that first fired him up as an artist. In a 2016 interview, Kuali’i explained the evolution of his approach: "From graffiti writing, I wanted to simplify the process. I found stencilling through that. I ended up just appreciating the cut more than spraying… It’s a super challenging engineering approach from the standard stencil cutting way." "When you start looking at more of the motion of how some of the cut paper flows and the construction of it — or deconstruction, rather — you start seeing the basic motion of letter form from graffiti. You start seeing the motion of something in passing from pushing a skateboard. There’s a whisper of an old pattern from an Eddie Reategui mini-deck. Even with the cut elements, there’s power."1 In another exciting move, Innova Art is also sponsoring the ‘Postcode Print Release’ project, offering local residents their own very special take-out from the fair: a free print. The image will be provided by the brilliantly witty Mr Frivolous – “an artist [...]
