Lots of interest at Photo Plus Expo, New York, October 22-24th

Last week Innova took a stand at the annual Photo Plus Expo at the Javits Centre in New York City.

We had a great time; many people were drawn in by the stunning aerial photos by Ken Scruggs and transformed into art prints by the Photoshop talents of David Osborn. It was fantastic to have such a positive response to the images on the booth and even better to hear some of the stories visitors told.

With over 21,000 creatives attending the conference arranged by Photo District News magazine each year it was not a surprise to hear that the Innova booth in the expo hall was busy for the duration of the show. A selection of professional photographers, enthusiasts, film makers and educators stopped by to find out more about fine art printing and how they can get the most from their images using Innova papers. A product drawing a lot of interest was the Innova Art Cards, 220gsm matte art paper stock, coated on two sides so you can print a design on the outside and a message on the inside. Pre scored for easy folding, no need to print your photo separately and attach with messy glue and available in two sizes, packed in quantities of 100 cards and envelopes, Art Cards are the simple way to send out portfolio samplers, exhibition invites or great if you need a last minute greeting card and can’t get to the store.

Always popular is the FibaPrint® Range of fine art photographic papers, a pioneer of digital darkroom technology, Innova set the bar for high quality digital equivalents to traditional darkroom papers. This was proven by the amount of interest in the range at Photo Plus Expo, particularly popular were the FibaPrint® Ultra Smooth Gloss 2985gsm (IFA 49) – our flagship paper in the range, smooth glossy with an enhanced tonal range and a D-max rating up to 2.7, as well as the FibaPrint® Warm Cotton Gloss 335gsm (IFA 45) – a natural white, 100% Cotton, OBA free, museum quality glossy fine art photographic paper. Drawing in another crowd were the demonstrations of our JetMaster Image Display Systems products; the versatility of the Photo Panel, changing the finish by using a selection of different resin coated photo papers drew a lot of attention. The ease of creation and reduced shipping costs when printing with the JetMaster Photo Wrap to create canvas effect frames also caught the imagination of a lot of visitors.

We were joined on our stand this year by Spiral Binding, the manufacturer of PinchBook™ Photo Books and the American distributor for GOframe canvas stretching systems. The team at Spiral also reported a busy show with exceptional interest in PinchBooks, the easy way to create photo albums or portfolios. No glue, no mess, just fold back the covers to insert your pages and they can even be reused to create different portfolios using the same cover. Look out for new A3 (12×17”) size, leather effect PinchBook™ Photo Books coming soon.
