Innova Art has partnered with ARTtrust, which gives Photographers and Artists PROOF that each print is unique and authentic.

“In this age of refined mechanical reproduction, the temptation to forge photographic works of art is easily satisfied,” says legendary photographer Joel Meyerowitz. “We have been hoping and waiting for a foolproof method of security and maintaining the authenticity of our work.”

The ARTtrust system uses the ARTtrust Bubble Tag™, a label in which a random set of air bubbles is encapsulated in a translucent polymer film. The label uses a pH-neutral, non-acidic adhesive that won’t affect the archival properties of the print and has already been approved by authorities such as the Swiss Institute of Gemmology and the French Ministry of Industry.

When an art print is produced for sale, the photographer or artist applies the silver Bubble Tag to the back of the print, the gold Bubble Tag to the customer’s certificate of authenticity, and the blue Bubble Tag to their own copy of the certification document or file. The photographer or artist then registers the tag number on the print to his or her personal space on ARTtrust Online. Sellers or buyers can then easily verify the authenticity of a particular print by visiting ARTtrust Online and entering the print’s Bubble Tag number. The records also provide information about the artist, printing method, and materials used.

ARTtrust was incubated at Hewlett-Packard (HP) in partnership with Prooftag and Wilhelm Imaging Research. It was presented for the first time at Photo Plus Expo in October, and won the DIMA award at PMA.
