Innova Art at Moniker Art Fair: where the magic happens

Innova Art, the award-winning digital media specialist, is sponsoring two inspiring projects at the Moniker Art Fair, The Old Truman Brewery, London E1, 5–8 October 2017. The US mixed media artist Ian Kuali’i , a Moniker Art Fair Featured Artist, has created one of his signature, handcut paper installations especially for the fair. Kuali’i, whose approach is based on “the meditative process of destroying to create”, will be encouraging visitors around and inside his immersive paper sculpture, a work that, as always, draws as much on his ancestral ties to the indigenous people of the Southwest United States and Hawai’i, and his interest in occult symbolism, mysticism and global politics, as the Hip Hop music and art scene that first fired him up as an artist. In a 2016 interview, Kuali’i explained the evolution of his approach: "From graffiti writing, I wanted to simplify the process. I found stencilling through that. I ended up just appreciating the cut more than spraying… It’s a super challenging engineering approach from the standard stencil cutting way." "When you start looking at more of the motion of how some of the cut paper flows and the construction of it — or deconstruction, rather — you start seeing the basic motion of letter form from graffiti. You start seeing the motion of something in passing from pushing a skateboard. There’s a whisper of an old pattern from an Eddie Reategui mini-deck. Even with the cut elements, there’s power."1 In another exciting move, Innova Art is also sponsoring the ‘Postcode Print Release’ project, offering local residents their own very special take-out from the fair: a free print. The image will be provided by the brilliantly witty Mr Frivolous – “an artist [...]

Showcasing the work of Big Sleeps and Prime – long-time collaborators with Jim McHugh – the article speaks about the evolving art scene in LA and how the ‘darker side’ of art (tattoo, graffiti and street culture) are influencing the fine art market. Innova Art’s smart moves at FESPA 2017

Bestsellers and up-to-the-minute innovations hit the spot for visitors to the Innova Art stand at FESPA 2017. The biggest draws were the JetMaster® and GOframe ranges, both of them offering easy, quick and cost-effective solutions for décor display. The latest JetMaster additions only increased this award-winning product’s appeal. And YouTac® Textile – astonishingly simple to print, stick up, adjust and pull away again – was the big hitter in terms of print media. “We had an excellent show, doing the best of our business from Tuesday through to Thursday,” said Mike Gonzalez, Innova Art MD. “There were the usual amazing crowds around the demo table for JetMaster® and GOframe, and the Pinchbook™ portfolio range. However many awards we win, however persuasive we are, people will always want to see for themselves how easy these products are to use – seeing is still believing.” The latest JetMaster® product is the Aqueous Direct Print Photo Wrap, which received favourable scrutiny. Innova Art also raised the curtain on the new metal and acrylic products: JetMaster® Metal and JetMaster® UV Direct Print Acrylic. “The key point with JetMaster is this: you place our substrate on your print bed and almost as soon as the printheads have passed over it, you have a saleable product – because the finishing stages are so quick,” said Gonzalez. “With the UV Direct Print Acrylic, you print, press down and trim and you’ve a beautiful image ready for display. With JetMaster® Metal you can either print onto JetMaster® Paper Dye-Sublimation Transfer, then use your dye-sublimation heat press to transfer the image onto JetMaster® Metal and you get an amazing, high gloss, visually stunning image. Or you position the metal on your UV flat bed [...]

Innova Art at FESPA: where the future is now

For Innova Art, it’s all about the F-word at FESPA 2017. The future, that is – and all the ways our print solutions help businesses make the most of it. Fast, flexible and fit-for-purpose are the watchwords at Innova Art – it’s the way we operate. Which is why our stand is always such an important destination for FESPA visitors. Fully focused on what a 21st century print business needs to prosper, we’re the first to share the benefits of our future-proofed solutions. You’ll have heard of the award-winning JetMaster® Image Display Systems range. It won the Fine Art Trade Guild’s Innovation Award back in 2011. While that was years ago, it’s always back to the future at Innova Art. We improve and extend every product we make so you can look ahead with confidence. The JetMaster® Aqueous Direct Print Photo Wrap is our latest JetMaster® Innovation. It’s really rather easy: put the JetMaster® pre-cut board through a compatible aqueous inkjet printer. And that’s it. Or nearly. You’ll want a minute or so more to fold over the sides and secure them with pins, and to insert a back panel for extra strength and a neat finish. But after that – well, it’s job done: a high-impact, canvas-effect 3D photo wrap up on the wall in minutes, to the amazement – we’re sure – of all your customers. We’re working on other JetMaster® innovations for FESPA, too, but we always like to keep a few surprises in store. It’s all part of the sustained effort we put behind our best ideas. Here’s another: our inkjet-compatible textile, YouTac® Textile. Whether you’re printing bespoke wallpapers or exclusive limited edition prints, YouTac® Textile’s bright white base and matte [...]

Innova Art’s GOframe and YouTac® wrap it up at Sign and Digital UK 2017

Printing, stretching, hanging – and covering anything that stood still long enough with a vinyl graphic – it was all action on Innova Art stand K30 with the GOframe canvas stretching system, the YouTac® décor range and Wrap Master Ruan Greeff of Wrap My Ride setting the pace at Sign and Digital UK, NEC, Birmingham, 28-30 March 2017. Perfect drum-tight canvases in minutes? With no specialist expertise, just a table, a craft knife and glue? It’s got to be GOframe. Sensational graphic displays that print, adhere and pull off again without damage or unsightly residue? You guessed it: YouTac®. It shouldn’t really be any surprise that the Innova Art stand was such a draw. “GOframe and YouTac® were certainly the products visitors most wanted to see,” said Innova Art MD Mike Gonzalez. “What we’ve worked on, and had huge successes with, is developing products that work right across the skills base of a company. Whether you’ve been doing a job for twenty years or twenty days, with GOframe and YouTac® you always get great results.” Innova Art saw at least as many visitors as at last year’s show and while GOframe and YouTac® were hits, “there was interest right across the range,” adds Gonzalez. “Our award-winning JetMaster® display system, another way to make easy work of gallery wraps, was another huge success. And we had tremendous interest in our range of digital media and canvases. We keep winning prizes because we care so much about the end product: our customers’ prints and the impact they make on their customers. It marks us out and it marks our customers out, too.” Innova Art were once again joined by Sign-Tronic, demonstrating just how many JetMaster® direct print [...]

Innova Art: the word gets out at The Photography Show

All the signs were that the Innova Art stand would be a big draw at The Photography Show, NEC, Birmingham, 18-21 March 2017. And it was. We’d put the word out about Innova Art’s multi-award-winning range of digital media, ingenious photo wraps, panels and other display and presentation solutions (that’s our job). But for visitors, the opportunity to see these products being put through their paces was simply too good to miss. It meant thousands of people made a beeline for the Innova Art/Fine Art Foto stand A1/B1 throughout the four-day show. “The Photography Show was excellent and we certainly felt we saw more visitors than last year,” said Mike Gonzalez, Managing Director of Innova Art. “We drew big crowds for the live demonstrations of our GOframe canvas stretching system, and for Northlight’s Keith Cooper’s expert presentations about large-format printing. The JetMaster® Photo Wraps and JetMaster® Photo Panels, which offer such quick, easy and flexible décor solutions, proved especially popular, and the Fine Art Foto retail counter was also buzzing. We had terrific sales right across the Olmec range of media, as well as of the Fabriano Printmaking Rag 310gsm (IFA 107) and the Exhibition Photo Baryta 310gsm (IFA 69). The new Innova Art Editions range of six specially selected media for fine art photographers and printers makes such a difference to the image that’s produced." “And Pinchbooks, a brilliantly cost-effective and elegant way to store and present photographic prints, were once again a massive hit with photographers of all levels, from students to pros." “How we do it is not really a secret at all. We keep on meeting our customers at events like The Photography Show, to listen carefully to what it is [...]
