Innovate Tradition: Innova Art at Salon de la Photo 2017

For photographers in France, there was only one place to be in November: Salon de la Photo 2017 With seminars and workshops focussed on getting to know the latest kit, or meeting the biggest names in photography, as well as exhibitions and a trade event. Salon de la Photo 2017 lived up to its well established reputation as a one stop shop for all things photography. Thousands of visitors attended Salon de la Photo 2017 and the Innova stand was buzzing with activity. Demonstrations took place of the full range of image display products and there was excitement surrounding the GOframe canvas stretching system. Available for the first time in France the GOframe 1500 Pro Bar allows users of all abilities to create professional stretched canvases without the need for specialist tools or training. Also popular for image display were Pinchbook™ Photo Books. “People love the versatility of these covers,” says James Cannone, Sales Account Manager at Innova Art, “they think it’s great that the same cover can be used multiple times so they end up buying a book for each size print they produce.” Allowing users to quickly replace the contents of the book by simply folding back the cover, Pinchbook™ Photo Books are available in cloth and leather material options. The artwork on the Innova stand at Salon de la Photo 2017 came from the archives of Los Angeles based photographer Jim McHugh. Featuring celebrity portraits captured over the course of his career as well as some more recent collaborations with urban artists Prime and Big Sleeps. Visitors were impressed by the cross section of techniques on show: from traditional film negatives scanned in and printed digitally, digital captures printed at various sizes [...]

France Flocks to New Editions Range

Last month Innova Art exhibited at two mainstays of the French photographic calendar: Salon de la Photo and Montier Photo Festival. Salon de la Photo 2016 saw 150 brands showing the latest in cameras, printers and digital imaging. Events included practical workshops, classes and debates as well as exhibitions by world renowned photographers. On the Innova Art stand an exhibition of work by Milton H. Greene showed iconic images from his Marilyn Monroe archive, including some previously unpublished, which really caught the attention of attendees. This was the perfect platform for the company who launched the new Innova Editions paper range to the French market at the show. Reports from Salon de la Photo indicate that there were over 85,000 visitors to the five day show and the Innova Art team certainly shared the experience. “The show was busy every day, visitors were queuing to get in all day,” reports James Cannone, Sales Account Manager for Innova Art. Visitors to the stand were particularly drawn to Fabriano Printmaking Rag 310gsm for its natural white, slightly textured surface and the Exhibition Photo Baryta 310gsm for its smooth gloss surface ideal for black and white prints. Alongside papers in the Editions range the Innova team also demonstrated the range of image display products available: JetMaster, GOframe and Pinchbook Photo Books. Visitors were particularly impressed by the flexibility of GOframe canvas stretching systems and the ability to create quick and easy canvases at almost any size. Later in the same week that Salon de la Photo finished, Montier Photo Festival opened in the Village of Montier-en-Der. Dedicated to wildlife and nature photography this primarily outdoor festival attracts a number of professional and amateur photographers every year. Alongside a [...]

Salon de la Photo Success

New Branding Debut The recent Salon de la Photo show in Paris marked the debut of the new look Innova branding in France. Reports from the show indicate that the new image for the company was well recieved and that Innova is steadily gaining a reputation in France for having a beautiful range of papers. All the companies on the stand in Paris mentioned that they felt the customer base was stronger than at the Salon de la Photo show last year, many people attended the stand actively seeking fine art papers, for their own use as well as for use as an alternative to the papers stocked in photo labs - proving that print is not dead and will surely be around for the foreseable future. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our distributors in France who were representing the Innova brand at the show, if you are based in France and would like to purchase any of the products produced by Innova please visit any of the following websites; www.papier-innova.fr www.jimagin.com www.A4etplus.com
