Innova Art’s partnership with curator and photographer Martin Vegas, allowing the extraordinary Atlas of Humanity project to be seen for the very first time in print, rather than online, was one the major highlights of Photokina 2018, at Koelnmesse, Cologne, Germany, 26-29 September 2018.
Innova Art presented images from the Atlas of Humanity project, both on the company’s stand A006, Hall 3.1, and as a stand-alone exhibition between Halls 4 and 5. Images of the world’s diverse cultures – the work of photographers both professional and amateur from all round the world – were matched to selected papers in the Innova Art digital media range.
“The response was extraordinary,” said Innova Art MD Mike Gonzalez. “We printed the images on a range of media to reflect the variety of images and the approaches of the contributing photographers. That every one of the prints looked so dazzling is a credit to the choice our range offers. Choose well and every image is improved on Innova Art digital media.”
Photokina itself is a richly international event. The 2018 fair drew around 180,000 visitors from 127 countries worldwide. 812 companies, 69% of them from abroad, were represented at Photokina 2018. “We have experienced the most innovative Photokina in years, with many new products in all areas of the value creation chain,” commented Rainer Führes, Chairman of the German Photo Industry Association (PIV).
There were, as always, many innovations in the field of image capture, but the surface tones and textures of fine art and photographic substrates easily held their own.
“Our focus on our Innova Editions®, Fine Art and Photo Art ranges yielded multiple sales enquiries,” added Gonzalez. “We marked our fifteenth year as a company at this year’s Photokina, which means that many of our most popular papers have been tried and tested over a very long period. They are a proven, archival solution to creating stunning prints.”
The latest additions coming soon to the award-winning JetMaster® Image Display Systems range: JetMaster® Metal and JetMaster® Acrylic, also made an impact. JetMaster® Metal creates stunning dye-sublimation prints can be made in just a few simple steps. JetMaster® Acrylic transforms a resin coated photo paper print into an enviable 21st-century décor item in minutes.
“We had an excellent show, with visitors responding enthusiastically both to our core product ranges – our archival quality inkjet papers – and the future, represented by our latest innovations in terms of image print and presentation. We’re looking forward to building on this as we move into 2019 and beyond,” said Gonzalez.
