Innova Art: the word gets out at The Photography Show

All the signs were that the Innova Art stand would be a big draw at The Photography Show, NEC, Birmingham, 18-21 March 2017. And it was. We’d put the word out about Innova Art’s multi-award-winning range of digital media, ingenious photo wraps, panels and other display and presentation solutions (that’s our job). But for visitors, the opportunity to see these products being put through their paces was simply too good to miss. It meant thousands of people made a beeline for the Innova Art/Fine Art Foto stand A1/B1 throughout the four-day show. “The Photography Show was excellent and we certainly felt we saw more visitors than last year,” said Mike Gonzalez, Managing Director of Innova Art. “We drew big crowds for the live demonstrations of our GOframe canvas stretching system, and for Northlight’s Keith Cooper’s expert presentations about large-format printing. The JetMaster® Photo Wraps and JetMaster® Photo Panels, which offer such quick, easy and flexible décor solutions, proved especially popular, and the Fine Art Foto retail counter was also buzzing. We had terrific sales right across the Olmec range of media, as well as of the Fabriano Printmaking Rag 310gsm (IFA 107) and the Exhibition Photo Baryta 310gsm (IFA 69). The new Innova Art Editions range of six specially selected media for fine art photographers and printers makes such a difference to the image that’s produced." “And Pinchbooks, a brilliantly cost-effective and elegant way to store and present photographic prints, were once again a massive hit with photographers of all levels, from students to pros." “How we do it is not really a secret at all. We keep on meeting our customers at events like The Photography Show, to listen carefully to what it is [...]

France Flocks to New Editions Range

Last month Innova Art exhibited at two mainstays of the French photographic calendar: Salon de la Photo and Montier Photo Festival. Salon de la Photo 2016 saw 150 brands showing the latest in cameras, printers and digital imaging. Events included practical workshops, classes and debates as well as exhibitions by world renowned photographers. On the Innova Art stand an exhibition of work by Milton H. Greene showed iconic images from his Marilyn Monroe archive, including some previously unpublished, which really caught the attention of attendees. This was the perfect platform for the company who launched the new Innova Editions paper range to the French market at the show. Reports from Salon de la Photo indicate that there were over 85,000 visitors to the five day show and the Innova Art team certainly shared the experience. “The show was busy every day, visitors were queuing to get in all day,” reports James Cannone, Sales Account Manager for Innova Art. Visitors to the stand were particularly drawn to Fabriano Printmaking Rag 310gsm for its natural white, slightly textured surface and the Exhibition Photo Baryta 310gsm for its smooth gloss surface ideal for black and white prints. Alongside papers in the Editions range the Innova team also demonstrated the range of image display products available: JetMaster, GOframe and Pinchbook Photo Books. Visitors were particularly impressed by the flexibility of GOframe canvas stretching systems and the ability to create quick and easy canvases at almost any size. Later in the same week that Salon de la Photo finished, Montier Photo Festival opened in the Village of Montier-en-Der. Dedicated to wildlife and nature photography this primarily outdoor festival attracts a number of professional and amateur photographers every year. Alongside a [...]

Jim McHugh: AFTERMATH | Innovation News: Looking Back at 2016

Back in April Month of Photography Los Angeles was in full swing. As part of that The Robert Graham Studio played host to AFTERMATH, a group exhibition including photographs by Jim McHugh. When it came time for Jim McHugh to remove the installation from The Robert Graham Studios, Wayne Connelly (USA Director, Innova Art) paid a visit to catch up with Jim, hear more about the project and see what Jim’s plans are for the future. AFTERMATH was a commemoration of Robert Graham’s project MOCA Torso and featured photography, painting and sculpture. In the aftermath of the 1992 Los Angeles riots, many in the city felt the need to do something. The MOCA Torso project was created by Robert Graham in response to this, reaching out to the endangered youth of Los Angeles and teaching them how to make art: encouraging them to redirect their energy into something creative and productive. Under his guidance the artists were trained in the art of bronze sculpture, created a series of small bronze works and all the proceeds from sales went to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. The resulting body of work remains one of the most iconic works by Robert Graham and became a symbol of possibility for many. Juan Carlos Munoz aka “Heaven” was one of the artists included in the MOCA Torso project and Jim McHugh photographed the project throughout 1992 for various publications. Since then Juan Carlos Munoz has gone on to build his own internationally recognised art career as a painter and sculptor, he was also one of the graffiti artists featured in Jim McHugh’s most recent project. AFTERMATH commemorated the meeting of these artists who first crossed paths in [...]
