A modest master of many photo-technologies, Jim eagerly welcomes questions about digital photography, printing, and analog photography, as well as topics like Fuji and Polaroid instant films, managing photo assignments with his Mac Air, and taking fantastic pictures from your IPhone.
From Clint Eastwood to Tina Turner and Jay-Z, Jim McHugh has photographed many of the most recognized and celebrated faces in the world. His portraits have appeared on the covers of PEOPLE, ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST, TV GUIDE, and ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY.
Awarded internationally for his Weegee-like vintage press camera Polaroid and Fuji prints of Los Angeles, a current exhibition of McHugh’s photographs, Let’s Get Lost: Polaroids From The Coast, is on display at LAX. Presented by the Department of Cultural Affairs for the City of Los Angeles, the show runs through March of 2013. Let’s Get Lost will travel to Bilbao, Spain in the Fall of 2013. In 2012 McHugh participated in the Getty Museum’s Pacific Standard Time program, exhibiting his portraits of L.A’s Cool School artists.
