The Photography Show 2018 at the NEC, Birmingham, 17-20 March, was an excellent marketplace for digital media and display specialists Innova Art.
On the retail counter, run in partnership with the dedicated online retailer FineArtFoto.co.uk, the Olmec™ range of resin coated inkjet photo papers was as popular as ever. Olmec™ Archival Matte 230gsm and Olmec™ Photo Lightweight 190gsm in Gloss and Lustre finishes all sold out at the show. The new Innova Editions® range, which brings together a premium selection of cotton-based art and FibaPrint® photo papers, also proved popular. With some visitors reporting it is now their go-to range of archival inkjet fine art and photo papers from Innova.
“In the demo area, the offer of a ‘free print from your memory stick’ was a massive hit. 300 or so photographers took the opportunity to print out their images on our Olmec Photo Satin Heavyweight 260gsm, Olmec Photo Metallic Gloss 260gsm or Fabriano Printmaking Rag 310gsm inkjet papers – all proved equally popular. We were very pleased to see some visitors buying a pack of the same paper to print on at home – job done!” said MD, Mike Gonzalez.
“A big show is always a good place to learn from your customers,” continued MD, Mike Gonzalez. “This year we saw quite a few photographers who had bought the resin coated Olmec range from our retailer, Fine Art Foto, before. They were now looking to take the next step by printing on the FibaPrint® digital darkroom papers found in the Innova Editions® and Photo Art ranges. It is great to see that photographers are continually looking to improve the quality of their prints by using the best quality archival media.”
Adding value to finished prints was also a theme on the Innova Art stand at The Photography Show 2018. There was a lot of interest in the simple to use GOframe canvas stretching system. A flat canvas print can be transformed into a value added, high quality, ready to hang, 3D canvas wrap, in minutes. Another aspect that really appealed to visitors is its flexibility: the 1500 bar is available in bar lengths short enough to create small stretched canvases from A4 or A3 sheets and there is no need for a professional level print set up to be able to use the system.
Elevating the presentation of loose prints was a common quest for visitors to the NEC this March. Luckily the answer was available on the Innova Art stand: Pinchbook™ Photo Books. A range of effortlessly elegant presentation covers for portfolio books and albums. No tools, glue or staples are needed and the contents can be easily replaced to suit any requirement from business presentations to presenting printed proofs to clients.
